Terms of use

Last updated: 17 August 2026. Effective from the same date.

1. What this site is

MergeDiary is an independent editorial project. We publish notes on free-to-play merge, match and management games available on Google Play. Everything on this site is our opinion after playing the titles ourselves, offered for general information. It is not advice, and it is not a promise about how any game will behave on your device or how it will change after a future update.

By using the site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

2. Ratings and editorial method

The score shown beside each title is the aggregate rating published on that game's Google Play listing for Australia at the time the note was written. We copy the figure exactly and do not adjust, round or average it. Store ratings move over time, so the number on this page is a snapshot of a moment, not a permanent value.

Quoted player reviews are taken from public Google Play listings. We may shorten a quote for length; we never rewrite it, change its meaning, or attach it to a different game.

3. Advertising disclosure

Reading this site is free. The site is funded in two ways, and we state both plainly:

Advertising does not decide which games appear in the diary, what we say about them, or which rating we publish. Editorial decisions are made before any commercial arrangement is discussed, and no advertiser is given approval over a note.

The games covered here are free-to-play releases that are themselves usually funded by in-app advertising and optional in-app items. None of them requires a purchase in order to be played.

4. Paid reading plans

4.1 What is being purchased

A reading plan is access to additional editorial material on this website: extended write-ups, mechanic breakdowns with session notes, early access to seasonal round-ups and, on the annual plan, the full archive of past notes. A plan gives access to written material on mergediary.com only. It grants nothing inside any game, and it has no connection to in-app items sold by game developers.

4.2 Prices and term

Prices are in Australian dollars and include GST. If a price changes we will tell current subscribers at least 30 days before the change takes effect, and the change applies from the next billing date.

4.3 Cancellation

You may cancel at any time by writing to editors@mergediary.com. Cancellation stops the next renewal; access continues until the end of the period already billed. There is no cancellation fee and no minimum term beyond the period you have paid for.

4.4 Refunds

If you cancel within 14 days of a first payment and are not satisfied with the material, write to us and we will refund that payment in full. After 14 days, a monthly plan is not refunded for the current month, and an annual plan is refunded pro rata for whole unused months at our discretion. Nothing in this section limits the rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law, including the guarantees that apply to services supplied to consumers.

4.5 Current status

Our payment provider is being activated and paid plans cannot be started yet. No card details are collected anywhere on this site. Until billing opens, the plan buttons take you to the newsletter form, which reserves a place and lets us tell you when plans become available. Joining that list creates no obligation to take a paid plan.

5. Newsletter and notifications

The newsletter and browser notifications are sent only after you consent, and you can take that consent back at any time. How the data is handled is described in our privacy policy. We may pause, change or discontinue the newsletter, and we will say so in advance where that is practical.

6. No affiliation

MergeDiary is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or otherwise connected to Google LLC, Google Play, or any of the developers or publishers whose games are described on this site. Product names are used for identification only.

7. Intellectual property

Game titles, icons, screenshots, artwork and trade marks remain the property of their respective owners and appear here for identification and commentary, in the manner customary for editorial coverage. The editorial text, structure, layout and design of this site belong to MergeDiary. You may quote a short passage with a clear link back to the page it came from; republishing whole notes requires our written permission.

If you own rights in material shown here and would like it removed or credited differently, write to us at the address in section 10 and we will act promptly.

8. Links to other sites

Links to Google Play and other external sites are provided for convenience. We do not control those sites, do not endorse everything on them, and are not responsible for their content or their handling of your data. Their own terms and policies apply once you leave this site.

9. Disclaimer and liability

The site is provided on an "as is" basis. We take care to keep notes accurate on the day of publication, but games are updated constantly and we give no guarantee that a description, rating or price is still current. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of this site. Nothing in these terms excludes any right or guarantee that cannot be excluded under Australian law, including the Australian Consumer Law.

10. Applicable law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of Australia, and the courts of Australia have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. We may update these terms; the date at the top of the page shows when they last changed.

Editorial and legal contact: editors@mergediary.com.
